Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder Review

Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder Review
Beauties, I am just going to come out and say it - I committed a huge blogging sin and used this gorg powder before I photographed it. A week before my holiday my beloved Armani Loose Powder ran out. Now normally I would just go and re-purchase it straight away because it is seriously bomb, but I also saw it as an opportunity to try the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder. I thought it wouldn't be splurging if I actually need a new powder, right?! Anyway I left it till literally the last minute before we went away to buy it, (because you know, nothing like the thrill of running around at 8pm the night before buying last minute holiday purchases) so I had to just use it and pray to god that a nice blurry photo would save the fact I'd been dipping in and out of it all week ;)

Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder Review

First of all - let's talk about packaging. Charlotte Tilbury just cannot do any wrong can she?! It just looks so beautiful in the classic rose gold packaging and it reminds me of a vintage compact when you see it in your makeup bag. My only problem with it is that the clasp is almost too good - I swear I struggle to open it! Is it just me being seriously weak, or maybe I just got a weird one?

Anyway once I've prised it open I can give you my verdict on the actual powder. Unfortunately, the powder is too dark for me, the assistant gave me shade 2 Medium. I don't know what's wrong with me, but if someone thinks I'm medium shade anything my mind suddenly goes - 'yep that's right lady, give me the tanned one'. I think I just get flattered that they think I'm more tanned than I am. Anyway I should have gone with what I actually went in there for which was shade 1 Light.

Apart from the colour, the powder does exactly as it says on the tin - it is flawless. I actually find it quite a heavy powder but somehow doesn't make the skin look cakey or dry at all. I was able to wear it all holiday as I could get away with it on top of my darker foundation, and it really did set my makeup beautifully. At the end of the day I only had to touch up my forehead and chin, which considering how much hotter it was over there, I thought was pretty good going! (I also like to constantly spray my face with face mist).

It really does give an airbrush finish, and it made my skin look perfected without being obvious I was wearing powder. But would I repurchase? It's a difficult one because I do really want to try it in the lighter shade to be able to see how it performs on a normal day to day basis. However the Charlotte Tilbury powder retails for £33 for 8g, and the Armani powder is £33 for 15g. At nearly twice the amount of product and considering how much I love my Armani powder (also bonus: it lasts me nearly a YEAR, I kid you not)....sorry Charlotte, but my heart belongs to Armani on this one ;)

Have you tried this powder? What did you think of it?

xoxo
