Spring Blush Edit

Spring Blush Edit - Bobbi Brown Calypso Coral, MAC Style, MAC Peachykeen, MAC Rosy Outlook, Benefit Coralista

I am totally guilty of using the same blushes over and over - I always reach for the pink blushers, the kind of blue based pink 'Barbie' shades. They are definitely my fall-back colours as I know I will always like the way they look but lately I have been trying to use more of my coral and peachy shades for a more spring/summer look! I think this is partly because I have pretty much been using my Sweet Peach palette every day, but I'm also loving using the warmer shades. Here is my round-up of my favourite spring blushes at the moment.

MAC Rosy Outlook is a gorgeous pale peachy pink - perfect for a day time look because it isn't too heavy of a colour. You can afford to be quite heavy handed with this one as it's quite sheer, although it is one of their Pro Longwear formulas so once it's applied it stays all day. It's completely matte so I do like to pair this with a soft gold based highlighter for a really pretty effect on the cheeks. For something even more golden peach I would definitely recommend MAC Style blusher. This was the first distinctly 'orange' tone blush that I ever bought - I wouldn't say this has any pink tone to it at all. I always love the way it looks because it has tiny flecks of gold shimmer in it, perfect with a tan or bronzed cheeks.

My absolute favourite one that I have been reaching for lately is MAC Peachykeen. To me this looks much darker in the pan then it does on the cheek, and once applied it has the most gorgeous peach tone with the perfect mix of orange/pink undertones. I am actually surprised how well this goes with different eye looks - the obvious bronze eye shadows look amazing, but I have even used it with my Naked 3 palette (when I stayed at Chris's and forgot to pack a different blush) and I really loved the way it looks. I am in love with the shimmer in this blush, it really brings your face to life - obsessed!

Now I couldn't mention coral/peachy blushes without mentioning the complete classic Coralista by Benefit could I?! You can see how well loved this blusher is - look at the state of that box! This blusher used to be my absolute Holy Grail blusher and I used to plaster it all over my cheeks until I looked like a glowing peach. Now my blush technique is a little more refined but I still love the colour just as much. Again this has a slight shimmer to it which gives a beautiful dewy look to the skin - this is a total oldie but a goodie!

Lastly I wanted to mention a cream blusher as these are so nice in the warmer weather for a dewy glow. I love the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouges and Calypso Coral is one of those stunning shades that looks so pretty on a lot of different skin tones. It's quite bright in the pan but you don't really need a lot of it to get that gorgeous pop of colour. I like to apply these with a stippling/kabuki brush; I always find I end up rubbing off the makeup underneath when I use my fingers! The nice thing about the Pot Rouges is that you can also wear it on the lips applied with your finger - perfect for easy lips on the go.

And there you have it, my favourite blushes for spring/summer! What blushers are you wearing lately?

xoxo
