Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette & Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss in Pure Peach Review

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette & Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss in Pure Peach
So it has finally happened... I gave into temptation and bought the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette! I swear I have seen this on Instagram every single day since it's release, and I can see why! The packaging is SO cute, and the shades are such a gorgeous mix of peachy and bronze shades that I can imagine would look good on anybody. But is it worth the hype and the money?

First of all I just want to talk about the packaging. I know that themed or 'gimmicky' packaging doesn't float everyone's boat but the Sweet Peach packaging definitely floats mine. The palette comes cased in a sturdy tin, which I like because sometimes cardboard packaging gets scuffed and marked easily. I also love the colours; it's bright and girly and totally stands out against all of my other palettes (a.k.a. totally Instagram worthy).

What I really love about the palette is the shades. I love the peachy shades, and I have loved working these into my crease as well as across the lid. I'm also really excited that they have incorporated a khaki green and some plum shades toox; it's nice to have a mix up with some different colours. They also work well within the whole colour palette. Yes, there are the usual bronze shades, and you probably have a billion like it in other palettes, but I do like to be able to create a whole look using only one palette and personally I like having the wearable shades as they always look so beautiful.

I have only used this a handful of times as I was waiting to photograph it before I used it, but so far I am really liking the formula of the shadows. I actually find the shadows in the Sweet Peach palette easier to blend than my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette! As per usual the shimmer shadows are the stars of the show; they are super blendable and they have gorgeous pigmentation. Having said that, the matte shades are also really nice to work with, especially the lighter shades.

The ones I had the most problems with were Delectable and Talk Derby to Me - two of the darker shades in the palette. Swatching them on bare skin they came out very chalky, however when I have any shadows like this I always find they perform MUCH better patted on top of a black or dark brown cream shadow/pencil. Talk Derby to Me came to life when I patted it on top of a dark brown Kiko shadow stick that I put down as a base; you could really see the purple colour and the flecks of sparkle in it. On the eye I would lay all of your crease and transition colours down, blend the cream shadow base up from the lash line and then pat the eye shadow on top as an all-over smokey eye. Personally I wouldn't really use a colour like this in the crease, just because it's hard to blend.

So far, my favourite colours in the palette are Georgia, Luscious, Cobbler, Just Peachy, Bellini, Puree and Bless Her Heart. I can honestly see me getting a lot of wear out of this, just because I love warm colours on my eyes so much, and quite frankly I'm a bit of an eye palette addict. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the smell - it's not offensive but I'm not sure why the eye shadows need to smell like peaches as it's already a beautiful palette!

I also picked up one of the Creamy Peach Oil Lip Glosses at the same time, they all looked so cute lined up, how could I resist?! I opted for Pure Peach, which was quite pink based compared to the others (Come on, we all know the drill by now). This is unlike anything else I have, so it's hard to compare them to a different product. It is not sticky like a lip gloss, and I would say the pigmentation is much better than a normal lip gloss. In the picture below the I applied the lip gloss to bare lips, and you can see the colour is quite true to what's in the tube. Again, the product smells like peaches which doesn't bother me too much, but I do love the cute little peach face on the end of the tube :)

Overall, I do think the Sweet Peach palette was worth buying. I have only used it for a few days because like I said, I wanted to photograph it first, but I actually get excited about using it! I don't think it's one you necessarily need to have, but it's definitely a great one to have in your collection. The Sweet Peach lip gloss is really beautiful, and I can see me getting a lot of use out of this in the summer, but this is one you probably won't miss out too much if you don't buy it.

Have you tried the Sweet Peach palette? What did you think?

xoxo
