10 High-End Makeup Items That Are Worth the Splurge

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, Tom Ford Lipstick

Hello Beauties, hope you're all having a good week so far! Today on the blog I wanted to share ten high-end makeup items that I've bought and that I have never regretted buying (well technically 9 as one was a gift but, you know). Whenever I'm considering buying something expensive, I usually research the hell out of it to see whether it's going to be money down the drain or instead change my life and face for the better. There's nothing worse than spending your hard earned money on something and it doesn't live up to your expectations, so I thought it would be handy to have a little run down of products that I have been obsessed with since I bought them and would re-purchase.

1. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Not going to lie, I mainly purchased this foundation because I kept seeing it on Instagram, not because I thought it would be good for my skin type or anything! As per usual, in-keeping with my constant denial of being pale, I insisted that the sales assistant give me one that was a shade darker than my actual skin tone. When I got home I realised it was actually a LOT a darker than my natural skin tone, and so I only wear this when I've got fake tan on. However when I do wear it I absolutely love using this! It literally gives the skin the most gorgeous glow, and the coverage is SO beautiful. It doesn't highlight any dry patches, it stays looking beautiful all day and it never oxidises. I love this in the summer with cream blusher and a bronzey eye, just because it has that amazing summery glow.

As you can probably guess by reading my blog, I love Bobbi Brown products and this highlighter is no exception. The highlight powders deliver a more intense highlight than the cult favourite Shimmer Bricks, but the formula of these is incredible. Soft and finely milled; they melt into the skin meaning they give you a stunning highlight without the obvious frosty sheen. The one I have is called Sunset Glow which was a limited edition released last year, but they do two colours all year round- Pink Glow and Bronze Glow, both of which deliver the same buttery formula and beautiful highlight.

I'll be staying on the Bobbi train with the Sparkle Eyeshadows. I seriously don't know how people live without these. They are not chunky like eye glitters, more of a subtle sparkle with a very slight colour tone to them. You can wear them on their own, or pressed on top of your normal eye-shadow., and when they catch the light, people are guaranteed to ask you what you're wearing on your eyes. Kate La Vie raves about the shade Pebble here. Another one of my favourite things about them is they are literally a saving grace - messed up your eye-shadow? Chuck one of these on top and hey presto, problem solved!

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder, Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick, Hourglass Blusher

I've grouped these two together because what I love about each of these is the same. How Hourglass get such finely milled powders that literally make your skin look like a silky dream, I will never know. Their products are pricey, but I literally can see where every penny has gone. You need hardly any product when applying which means they last a long time, but the effect they have on the skin is just phenomenal. They go on so smoothly and give your skin that real 'lit-from-within' glow that people talk about all the time. I would repurchase any of these in a heartbeat.

I have 3 Tom Ford lipsticks, and each of them have the same beautiful formula that make them one of those luxury 'treat' items. They have a creamy but lightweight formula which means they go on so smoothly, but they aren't too glossy either. The thing that I really love about the Tom Ford lipsticks is the longevity - I always find they last much longer than most lipsticks and I usually only have to top up once during the day. Also let's not forget the little TF embossed into each shade is just so cute, even though I shed a little tear when it eventually disappears! The shade in this picture is Beau.

7. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
So this isn't technically a purchase, as it was bought as a Christmas Gift for me from my best friend Lacey. However, I had to include it as I have been blown away by this mascara. If you want a more in depth review you can find it here, but the short version of it goes a little like this - if you want full volume lashes with tons of length and a mascara that actually does what it promises, then get this! The only thing I have heard about this is that it can have some drop down, however I haven't experienced this at all so for me it is a total winner!

Tom Ford Liptisck, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, Hourglass Bronzer

What can I say, this is one of the most beautiful palettes I own. The eye-shadows have such a smooth and silky texture; hands down these have to be some of the most easily bendable shadows that I own. The Dolce Vita gives you a beautiful coppery smoky eye with glints of gold and bronze, which means this would literally suit anybody and I would definitely recommend this one if you are eyeing up any of the Charlotte Tilbury palettes.

This one probably comes as no surprise; Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks seem to be overwhelmingly and universally loved by everyone! I have a few of these lipsticks both in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G and Matte Revolution formulas and they are all the same - amazing pigmentation, creamy formula and long lasting colour. I don't know why, but I find that the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks give the illusion of my lips being plumper than they are and that's always a bonus! When you add this together with the gorgeous rose gold packaging, they really are a luxury product that are worth the splurge. I cannot wait to add more to my collection!

Another cult favourite, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is one of my favourites. The only reason I don't wear mine too often is my own fault - the shade I have, Chantilly, is too light for me because I ordered it online. I just find it gives me the reverse panda eye look with a really stark white under eye. However, even with the lighter colour I can vouch for the fact that this product is amazing. I find the coverage to be perfect, and the formula is so light-weight it doesn't settle in fine lines at all. It does at it says and gives a radiance to the under-eye without being too glowy or wet looking, so I will definitely be re-purchasing the correct shade.

And there you have it! What are the items you've bought and never regretted buying?

xoxo
