New Zoella Jelly & Gelato Range

Zoella Jelly & Gelato Range

As soon as I saw Zoella was bringing a new range of products for her Zoella beauty line called Jelly & Gelato I was intrigued, and as soon as I actually saw it, I was clicking 'Add to Basket' before I knew it! I loved the beautiful packaging and I thought the idea of jelly/ice cream scents sounded so yummy, I couldn't wait to try it out. I had to wait to snap pictures of these for what seemed forever, as my camera/blogging stuff has been tucked away whilst moving house. When I eventually did get chance to photograph them I had so much fun snapping these babies that I was so excited to put them on the blog today!

July Favourites

July Favourites - MAC Strobe Cream, Loreal True Match Foundation, NYX Lid Lingerie, Charlotte Tilbury Champagne Diamonds

Hi Beauties! Can you believe it's the end of July already?! This year is going SO fast! July was a really good month for me; Chris and I moved in together and it was my birthday a few days ago so we had such a fab weekend celebrating with family and friends. I haven't done a monthly favourites post for a little while as I tend to gravitate towards the same products all of the time and they don't often change too much. However this month I had quite a few makeup favourites so thought I'd share them with you today!

Charlotte Tilbury Sexy Sienna Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury Sexy Sienna Lipstick Review

Hey beauties! I wasn't going to do a blog post on this lipstick as I've had it for a little while now, but the main reason I never wrote a review is because I took all the pictures and I didn't like any of them when I started editing them. By then I had used it for swatches etc and it looked all smudged and used so I didn't take any more pictures as I always try and keep everything pristine until I've taken pictures for the blog. I then realised that that was literally the most stupid reason not to feature it on here and still write the review! (P.S. Totally not happy with these pictures either... hazy much?!)

How I Beat Adult Acne

How I Got Rid of Adult Acne

In the past I was quite lucky with my skin; as a teenager I never really suffered with spots or greasy skin, even though I would get the odd pimple I never had anything too traumatic. When I passed my teenage years and went into my early twenties, my skin pretty much stayed the same and I thought, "I must be one of those people who is just really lucky, right?!". WRONG. As if by magic at around the age of 24/25 my skin must have thought 'come on let's mix it up a bit' and what happened was probably one of the most horrible and confidence shaking things that has happened to me. My skin started to develop tons of pimples, spots and horrific cystic acne. And yes I know there are worst things to happen to people, but for me I was already going through a really difficult time and then with the acne on top, it really made me feel at rock bottom.

Anyway the good news is is that a couple of years later, I now have clear skin again. Even though I get the odd breakout, the improvement in my skin is so much better and I even go out without makeup on now (something I would NEVER do when I had acne). I thought it might be helpful to share some tips I followed to get rid of my adult acne (including my number one secret weapon that I found banished my acne for good - scroll to the bottom if you just want to jump straight to it).

DISCLAIMER: I cannot guarantee that these will work for you, and if you are really suffering it would probably be worth consulting with a doctor or a dermatologist. ANOTHER DISCLAIMER: This is a really long post so you might want to grab a cup of tea.

The Ordinary Skincare - Does Affordable Skincare Actually Work?

The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil and 2% Hyaluronic Acid

So if you're on Instagram you would have heard of The Ordinary; let's face it, it's everywhere. I first became aware of it on my Instagram feed a good few months ago, and for some reason I didn't think to investigate it further as I assumed it was going to be really expensive. It was only when my best friend asked me if I had heard about it, and told that it was really affordable that I realised I just had to have a look into it!

Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder Review

Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Powder Review
Beauties, I am just going to come out and say it - I committed a huge blogging sin and used this gorg powder before I photographed it. A week before my holiday my beloved Armani Loose Powder ran out. Now normally I would just go and re-purchase it straight away because it is seriously bomb, but I also saw it as an opportunity to try the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder. I thought it wouldn't be splurging if I actually need a new powder, right?! Anyway I left it till literally the last minute before we went away to buy it, (because you know, nothing like the thrill of running around at 8pm the night before buying last minute holiday purchases) so I had to just use it and pray to god that a nice blurry photo would save the fact I'd been dipping in and out of it all week ;)

Italy Photo Diary - Portofino & Santa Margherita

Hello Beauties! As you know we went to Italy last week, and so today I thought I'd share a a few photos of where we went and what we did. We are really bad at taking photos, we always forget to get good pictures of us (usually too busy eating) but this time we got quite a few. We have been to Italy together quite a few times now, but we have never been when it's hot and we haven't done too much exploring outside of where Chris's family live. This time we thought we'd head down to the Ligurian Coast a.k.a. the Italian riviera, which was about an hour and forty minute drive from Pisa airport. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and we had such an amazing time there!

Beautiful Brows with YSL Brow Wardrobe - Review and Swatches*

YSL Couture Brow Marker, Couture Brow Palette, Couture Brow and Dessin Des Sourcils

This post contains affiliate links which have been marked with a * - please see here for more information.

In the past, brows have never been my strong point. Mine are quite full at the front but disappear into nothing on the tail, and I never had the patience to draw them in properly. Going back a few years ago I actually used to go into work with no eyebrows filled in whatsoever. Considering I like to wear a lot of eye makeup you can imagine how weird I looked. Thankfully, I've now realised the importance of brows. We all know they frame the face beautifully but I also think makeup looks overall more polished when your brows are filled in slightly. I'm not one for overly heavy brows, but I do like them to look as neat and tidy as I can get them. Lately I have been using these beautiful brow products from Yves Saint Laurent, here's what I thought of them!

What's In My Holiday Makeup Bag

Smashbox Primer Water, Hourglass Bronzer, MAC Creme Cup, Chanel Lip Gloss, Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow, NYX Lid Lingerie

We go to Italy in less than a week and I am SO disorganised. I haven't bought anything I need to and I don't even know what I'm packing yet! But of course I've thought about what makeup I'm taking... priorities. I ALWAYS over-pack on the makeup but I'm going to try sooo hard this time to pack light. I wish I could be one of those people who chucks on a bit of tinted moisturiser and bronzer and they look like a sun-kissed goddess but unfortunately being a Caspar the Friendly Ghost look-a-like, this just isn't going to happen. Anyway, I thought I'd share a round-up of what my holiday make-up bag looks like!

An Afternoon with Smashbox Cosmetics

Smashbox Primer Water, Cover Shot Golden Hour Palette, Spotlight Highlighter Palette, Be Legendary Liquid Lip

Hello beauties! Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your week so far. Last Friday I had the absolute pleasure of being invited into the beautiful new Smashbox studio in Bluewater Shopping Centre! The lovely Clare at Smashbox asked if I would like to come along to their launch party to celebrate the opening of the new stand-alone store, to try out some of the products and find out what the brand is all about. Of course my answer was 'Err.. YES!' and along I went, excited to spend the day meeting the team and being beautified at the same time.

Life Lately

Life Lately - Instagram Shadowban

Hello Beauties! Today's post is a bit of a different one for me, but I realised I very rarely write about whats going on in my world, and thought I'd share a bit of what's been happening lately. You might want to grab a tea- it's a bit of a wordy one. As you probably noticed, I didn't post a lot in April and to be honest with you it's because I felt quite demotivated. Unless you have been living under a rock you will know that Instagram has gone through so many changes lately, and with all this unfollow/follow, algorithm and shadow ban business going down it left me feeling a bit demoralised!

Spring Blush Edit

Spring Blush Edit - Bobbi Brown Calypso Coral, MAC Style, MAC Peachykeen, MAC Rosy Outlook, Benefit Coralista

I am totally guilty of using the same blushes over and over - I always reach for the pink blushers, the kind of blue based pink 'Barbie' shades. They are definitely my fall-back colours as I know I will always like the way they look but lately I have been trying to use more of my coral and peachy shades for a more spring/summer look! I think this is partly because I have pretty much been using my Sweet Peach palette every day, but I'm also loving using the warmer shades. Here is my round-up of my favourite spring blushes at the moment.

New Goodies for April

Primark Jumper & Studded Ballerina Shoes, Charlotte Tilbury Scent of a Dream Perfume, Marble Candles

I have been on a bit of a spending ban lately when it comes to makeup; I realistically do have more than enough, even though I'll never stop buying it! I decided to put myself on a new makeup ban because I had a few better things to spend my money on in the past few weeks - Chris's birthday was in March, it was Mother's Day and I had a lovely bill for my broken car! *cries* However it hasn't stopped me treating myself to a few little bits, obviously haha!

Cute Easter Gifts Under £10

Easter Gifts Under £10

Hello beauties! I hope you are all having a good week and looking forward to the long weekend! I am working this weekend but we do have Easter Sunday off which I always look forward to. My mum usually cooks a big roast dinner and it's always a lovely relaxing day. Plus you have an excuse to eat chocolate all day long, what could be better?! Anyway I thought I'd put together a cute gift guide for some little Easter treats, either for you or maybe a nice gift for someone else. And even better, they are all under ten pounds!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette & Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss in Pure Peach Review

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette & Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss in Pure Peach
So it has finally happened... I gave into temptation and bought the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette! I swear I have seen this on Instagram every single day since it's release, and I can see why! The packaging is SO cute, and the shades are such a gorgeous mix of peachy and bronze shades that I can imagine would look good on anybody. But is it worth the hype and the money?

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick: Review & Swatch

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all doing well and looking forward to the weekend. A little while ago I won a Twitter competition run by the lovely Laura from Laurzrah blog, and the prize was this little beauty! Can you believe it?! I was so surprised because I haven't won anything like this before! I did a little jump when it arrived in the post, in the gorgeous Charlotte Tilbury packaging and with a cute note from Laura inside. I know this has been reviewed a lot lately as it is such a popular shade, but I couldn't resist photographing and reviewing it for the blog!

10 High-End Makeup Items That Are Worth the Splurge

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, Tom Ford Lipstick

Hello Beauties, hope you're all having a good week so far! Today on the blog I wanted to share ten high-end makeup items that I've bought and that I have never regretted buying (well technically 9 as one was a gift but, you know). Whenever I'm considering buying something expensive, I usually research the hell out of it to see whether it's going to be money down the drain or instead change my life and face for the better. There's nothing worse than spending your hard earned money on something and it doesn't live up to your expectations, so I thought it would be handy to have a little run down of products that I have been obsessed with since I bought them and would re-purchase.

How I Edit My Instagram Pictures

How I Edit My Instagram Pictures

I absolutely love Instagram, and even with all the changes it has been through recently it is still my favourite social media platform. Call me sad but taking pictures for Instagram and my blog is one of my favourite things to do, and I enjoy putting together a theme for my pictures so I have a cohesive Instagram feed. I thought I'd share today how I edit my Instagram pictures - the different apps I use on my phone including which settings I use, and how I use Photoshop for my DSLR photos. I hope you enjoy!

Jouer Cosmetics Long-Wear Lip Topper in Skinny Dip - Review & Swatches

Jouer Cosmetics Long-Wear Lip Topper in Skinny Dip - Review & Swatches

Hello Beauties, I hope you're having a good week so far! I am so excited to have this on the blog today, as it is one of my FAVOURITE new purchases. I was so excited for this to arrive after seeing it on Instagram, and when it finally reached me I was not disappointed. If you haven't seen these yet, the Jouer Long-Wear Lip Toppers (£13.50) are described as an 'iridescent lip-lustre' that you put on top of your favourite lipstick to give it a glimmering finish. The recent trend for metallic lips is not one that I've been too interested in - mainly because I like to stay quite classic with my makeup, but as soon as I saw how pretty Skinny Dip looked, I had to try it.

NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Tint - Sweet Cloud

NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Tint Sweet Cloud

Hello Beauties hope you're all having a fab start to the week! If you read my high-street makeup haul post, you'll know that I recently picked up one of the NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Tints in the shade Sweet Cloud. I won't lie to you, the minute I swatched it on my hand I was obsessed. I thought I'd do a little review and a makeup look with it; spoiler alert - it's incredible.

Eylure Lashes Review - Cheryl Sexy Senorita and Vegas Nay Shining Star

Eylure Lashes - Cheryl Sexy Senorita and Vegas Nay Shining Star

Who doesn't love an amazing pair of false lashes? They can totally transform your eye makeup and for me I just love them for when I want to feel a bit more glam. I also find that they have the added bonus of hiding a multitude of sins - if I have seriously messed up my eye makeup. I throw a pair of lashes on and somehow it instantly looks better! Quite a few years ago I used to wear some seriously bad eyelashes; I'm talking the massive thick black lashes that look like a big black moth has taken residence on your eyelid. Sometimes if I was feeling particularly wild, I would wear two pairs of those bad boys at a time. It took me a while to realise that this was NOT a good look, and actually in pictures they were making me look half asleep/drunk because they were so heavy! Wind on a few years and now I much prefer softer lashes.

My Holy Grail Blushers - Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown Blushers

Hello Beauties I hope you're all having a good week! I wanted to carry on my little Holy Grail series today with one of my favourite makeup items - blusher. As you can guess from the title and the fact that I've featured them on the blog a fair few times my favourite formula has to be the Bobbi Brown blushers. I love the colour range and I feel like they are very different to other brands in that they tend to be very bright in the pan, but when you apply them they look so fresh and give the most gorgeous pop of colour. I use these on myself but they are also pretty much the only blushers I keep in my kit.

Mini High-Street Makeup Haul

High Street Haul - Essie Nail Polishes, Nyx Lid Lingerie, NYX Micro Brow Pencil, Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and Max Factor Creme Puff Blush

Hello Beauties! I'm so sorry it has been well over a week since my last blog post, I was really busy last weekend and then the week just seemed to get away from me without any chance to take lots of pictures and plan out my posts. Anyway, I'm back on track now and excited to be blogging regularly again. I went to Boots this weekend just gone and I loved seeing what all the high-street brands have got out at the moment, so thought I'd share the goodies that I bought today!

My Top 5 Eye Brushes for Any Eye Makeup Look

Top 5 Eye Brushes for Any Eye Makeup Look

When you're buying brushes or starting a brush set it's easy to think you need every single brush out there and you can end up spending a lot of money on brushes you won't ever really use. When I started building my kit I kept falling into the trap of thinking I needed every brush to be able to do great makeup, and as you can imagine that works out expensive. Now I'm not saying you wont ever need or indeed want another brush, but I have realised that nearly every eye makeup look I do, whether on myself or someone else, I pretty much only use these five brushes. I thought it might be helpful to share them with you and what I use each one for.

Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury Valentine K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick

Happy Valentines beauties! Hope you're having a lovely day, whatever you're doing to celebrate! I couldn't think of a more perfect lipstick to post about today than Charlotte Tilbury's new shade Valentine. My heart pretty much stopped when I saw this announced on social media and whilst I know there is huge love for Pillow Talk (and understandably so), my eye was drawn straight to this one. I know there has been a lot of reviews on this so I'll keep it short and sweet but I just couldn't wait to photograph this gorgeous gem for the blog and write a review!

NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Unlaced Review

NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Unlaced

Back last year when the NARS Velvet Lip Glides came out I was sooo tempted to get one - I just loved the sound of them. They are described as having the consistency of a lip-gloss, coverage of a lipstick and a semi-matte finish. They sounded so appealing because I love the look of matte liquid lipsticks but sometimes I struggle with the dry feeling - I just feel desperate to apply lip balm or lip gloss pretty much as soon as they're on. Anyway, for whatever reason I didn't buy one but I was given a lovely surprise last week when my friend Katerina bought me one as a little present for taking some baby pictures for her. She nailed the colour choice, Unlaced, which is the one I was tempted by!

Lush Valentine's Goodies

I haven't been to Lush in ages but when I kept seeing the new Valentine's collection popping up all over Instagram, I couldn't resist popping in and getting a few new treats! I bought some of the cute pink Valentines limited editions and I also picked up a couple of other goodies too, I'm normally more of a shower person but when I've had a little Lush haul I literally can't wait to have a nice relaxing soak, especially when it means you'll be covered in pink bubbles and smell so amazing afterwards!

White Chocolate Valentine's Popcorn

White Chocolate Valentine's Popcorn

Hey beauties! Hope you're all having a good weekend! With Valentines just around the corner I was thinking of cute night in ideas recently. We aren't going out as neither of us are big on Valentines day, so I think we're going to have a nice dinner at home and have a cosy film night or something like that. I was trying to think of ideas for some cute little snacks to have at our movie night and seeing as I discovered my love for chocolate popcorn over Christmas, why not make a Valentines version!? As you can imagine I loved making this post, mainly because I pretty much ate all of it the minute I finished taking pictures and there was the added bonus of eating all the left over melted chocolate with a spoon. Let's hope the real thing lasts for more than two minutes when I make it the second time round!

My Quick Everyday Make-up Look

Quick Everyday Makeup Look

Whilst I do love getting dolled up I usually keep it relatively simple in my every day makeup routine. Sometimes you don't have the time to contour some killer cheekbones or blend out twenty different eye shadows. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in a rush I LOVE to practice those techniques and do high-glam looks. However, when it comes to the normal Monday-Friday daily look, I have to say I'm usually quite lazy and tend to just keep to my 'go-to' makeup. With that in mind I thought I'd share the routine I do when I don't have a lot of time today and hopefully you enjoy!

January Favourites 2017

January Favourites 2017

Happy first day of February beauties! Can you actually believe how quick January went past?! I swear it was Christmas two minutes ago and my main concern was where my next mince pie was coming from. Now its the first day of FEBRUARY and my main concern is how I'm going to shift the consequences of said mince pie/chocolate for breakfast/eat as much as you like and worry about it later diet. Anyway, I decided to do a little round up of all the things I was seriously loving last month - some slightly newer bits and some rediscovered oldies but goodies.

6 Things to Rescue Your Dry Skin this Winter

Winter Skincare Saviours for Dry Skin

Around November/December my skin always starts to go into it's winter meltdown mode - it becomes even drier than it normally is and it starts to get really textured and rough feeling! I hate it because it makes my makeup look flaky and uneven, and it grabs onto the dry skin. In addition, I get really chapped lips and my hands also suffer - they get so dry that they go all red and they're really sore! I decided to be more proactive this year to try and combat the dry skin properly, and so far, so good! With that in mind I thought I'd share my winter rescue products because I know I'm not the only one whose skin goes into crisis mode as soon as the colder weather hits. These are my favourite go-to products at the moment that are keeping my skin as healthy as possible this winter!

Loving Tan Dark Deluxe Bronzing Mousse Review

Loving Tan Dark Deluxe Bronzing Mousse Review

I love a good fake tan like a lot of girls out there and personally, I feel more confident when I have a bit of a tan. However I am really quite fair and so tanning naturally is not an option. Anyone who's fair knows the drill - sit in the sun, immediately feel your skin burning no matter how high your SPF, your skin burns, then it peels off and you're back to your normal snow-white self. For me it is just not worth the risk of sitting in the sun with fair skin knowing I will never tan and more than likely burn - I'd rather keep out of the sun and keep safe. Therefore, fake tan becomes my BFF when I want a bit of colour. I've tried quite a few different makes and have my favourites, but I have wanted to try Loving Tan for ages - ever since I saw it on Lauren Curtis and Shaaanxo's youtube channels a while ago. I was SO excited when I received this gorgeous gift from Loving Tan* I literally couldn't wait to use it - even though I had to wait to take pictures of it all first (#bloggerproblems).

My Favourite Creative Resources for Blogging

Hello Beauties, I hope you're all having a good week so far! I was a bit unsure whether to write this post, mainly because I haven't been blogging for too long and wondered whether anyone would actually be interested, but I thought I'd share my favourite creative blogging resources today! I used a lot of these resources when I was building this blog and I have also used them in personal design projects in the past, so wanted to share a list of my favourite go-to places for fonts, graphics, blog design and coding etc. It is by no means a comprehensive list but these are the sites I always find great little design gems, and really helpful advice when it comes to coding your blog. I hope you enjoy!

Mini Tanya Burr Cosmetics Haul

Tanya Burr Birthday Suit Palette, Enchanted Dream Palette and Birthday Cake Lipstick

How beautiful are these Tanya Burr palettes? A few months ago I became obsessed with watching Tanya's makeup videos, because I was really interested in getting NARS Sheer Glow foundation, and she uses it in a lot of her makeup videos. Anyway when I was watching the videos she was used her eyeshadow palettes in a few of them and I made a mental note to pick them up - it only took me 3 months but I finally bought two of them! I bought the Birthday Suit Palette, the Enchanted Dream Palette and I also picked up one of the lipsticks in Birthday Cake. I am already in love with them!

My Holy Grail Highlighter: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle

I wanted to carry on my Holy Grail series with my favourite highlighter and probably one of my all time favourite makeup products in general - MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle. This is my absolute go-to highlighter, no matter what makeup I have on, or whether I'm fake tanned or not this always looks so perfect. My camera really cannot do it justice in this winter lighting - it's so dark at the moment that I can't pick up the beautiful shimmer in this product!

A High-Street Only Makeup Look

High-street/Drugstore Makeup Look

Even though I'm lucky to have a lot of high-end makeup brands in my collection, some of my all time favourite makeup products are high-street heroes. I think that the drugstore makeup brands have upped their game massively, and some of the products out there can rival even the most expensive brands! Whilst I absolutely LOVE my high-end products and wouldn't want to be without them, I don't think you necessarily need to spend lots of money to get high quality these days. With that in mind I thought I would do an entire makeup look using only high-street/drugstore products, getting use out of some products I haven't used in a while at the same time!

My Favourite Instagram Accounts of 2016

My Favourite Instagram Accounts of 2016

It's no secret that I love Instagram, it is by far my favourite social media platform. I think for a lot of bloggers/ makeup accounts Instagram is the easiest way to show your creativity, and for me I find it so inspiring looking through everyone's pictures. I was a bit worried when I was starting this blog about putting myself 'out there', but actually what I've found is that everyone on IG has actually been really supportive and kind. I thought I'd put together some of my favourite Instagram accounts of last year (and still this year too obviously!) - all of these people have amazingly beautiful accounts and they've also been really supportive as well! This post isn't exhaustive by any means as there are literally hundreds of inspiring accounts and so many more that I just love, but these are just a few of my personal faves :)

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Well this is my first post of the new year! I hope everyone had a fab time on New Year's Eve whatever you ended up doing, and had a nice relaxing New Years Day (possible recovering!). We had a huge roast dinner with my family, played games, watched a few films and the new episode of Sherlock (so happy it is back!). I am really looking forward to getting back into blogging more frequently again as it was quite hard over Christmas to keep up to date with it, so I'm sorry I was a bit absent on here! Anyway, for Christmas my beautiful best friend Lacey bought me the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - she knows me too well and always buys me the best presents. I'd thought I'd do a quick little review on it as I have wanted to try this mascara for a long time!
