My Easy Christmas Party Makeup

Perfect Christmas Party Makeup

I loooove a bit of sparkle, and what better time than Christmas for a bit of a glitz and glam?! Actually.. do we even need a reason to chuck a load of glitter on our eyes? I don't! Anyway, this is an easy party makeup that tends to look good on everyone and it's perfect for any festive bash. This usually doesn't take me too long at all as there's not too many steps and I try and keep it quite simple. I hope you enjoy!

Every great party makeup starts with a good base. Lately I have been loving NARS Sheer Glow foundation for making the skin look perfect with a semi-matte finish. Buff on with a flat-top or kabuki style foundation brush - my favourite is Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush but the Zoeva Silk Finish Brush is equally just as good.

Then for the cheeks I use NARS Laguna Bronzer. Another cult favourite, Laguna is a neutral shade that gives a natural gorgeous glow without the orange. It has a very delicate shimmer which perfects the skin but it's so subtle you can still build this up under the cheekbones for a very natural looking contour. After that apply a cream blusher such as Bobbi Brown Pale Pink Pot Rouge  The cream blusher will enhance the dewy look and keep it looking fresh - you can apply that with the same brush you used for the foundation using a stippling motion.

For highlight I like MAC Soft & Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish. In my eyes the perfect highlight, the colour is ideal for giving that 'lit from within' look without looking too frosty or ashy on the skin. It's a beautiful peachy gold that gives a lovely warmth to the skin. The texture is gorgeous and doesn't highlight pores or uneven skin texture. Apply with a fan brush to the top of the cheek bones, down the middle of the nose and top of the cupid's bow on the lip.

For eyes you cannot go wrong with the Urban Decay Naked Palette - this is a total classic with easy to use shades. You don't have to be an expert using every single shade and a million different brushes, just use a fluffy brush (like a Sigma E40, MAC 217 or the fluffy end of the brush it comes with) to sweep the shade Buck through the crease, and then pat one of the warm gold shades like Half Baked or Smog all over the lid using the other end of palette brush or a flat brush like a MAC 239. If you wet the brush you'll get an even stronger pigment! You can leave it there or use the shade Blackout to smudge into the lash line to create more of a smokey eye if you wish using a pencil brush or the tip of the flat end of the palette brush.

For extra sparkle you can use Bobbi Brown Sparkle Shadow in Sunlight simply pressed on top using your finger. It really gives an extra dimension to the eye look and looks sooo pretty when it catches the light. If you want more of a copper sparkle the shade Allspice is stunning too. Add at least two coats of mascara (waterproof if needed) and false lashes if you really want to up the glam.

The great thing about a gold/bronze eye makeup is that pretty much any lipstick will go with it so go wild and pick whatever you feel amazing in. I'm not too good at dark colours but when I want to come away from my usual nudes I opt for a hot pink shade such as Pink Pearl Pop ;)

I hope you enjoy creating your festive party look!

    1. Aw thank you so much! Yes it took me a while to get used to it, I have to use a brush with it instead of my normal Beauty Blender and that got it to work for me! Thank you for reading! :)

  3. Such a beautiful look and glitz and glam is never a bad idea. I also love your lipstick choice because it's not a typical red.
