New Years Eve Makeup

Hello Beauties! I cannot believe it is the last day of 2016! I have had a thoroughly amazing year but in some ways I am glad to see the back of it! I am so so excited to see in the new year, as I have lots of things I'm looking forward to. We are planning on buying a house together this year so that's the biggest thing I'm excited about - I can't wait to see what house we end up buying! Hopefully we'll also be able to re-book our holiday after we had to cancel Bali this year, although where I'm not too sure just yet! Anyway, it's only a quick one today, so for my last post of the year I thought I would share what makeup I'm wearing for New Years Eve!

What I Got for Christmas: Makeup Edition

Tuesday, 27 December 2016

Charlotte Tilbury Dreamy Look in a Clutch

Hello Beauties! Sorry I haven't posted for a week, we have been really busy over here in Italy and the internet connection is quite temperamental so it's been hard to get on here and write a full blog post! I hope you all had an amazing and relaxing Christmas with good food and even better company! We had a really lovely but full on day here, we went out for Christmas lunch which turned out to be about a million different courses; Italians love to feed you! We then went back to the house and a lot of Chris's family came over for games and even more food. I've managed to completely lose my voice which I thought was to do with my over-enthusiastic passion to win Pictionary, but has actually turned out to be a horrendous cold :( Anyway, I was also thoroughly, thoroughly spoiled this year and thought I'd share a few pictures of what makeup I got from Santa (Chris) this year!

Free Download: Penguin Christmas iPhone Wallpaper

Tuesday, 20 December 2016

Good morning Beauties! Only five days to go! We're leaving for Italy today so will hopefully be posting from there for the next week! I will try and keep Instagram updated as much as possible even if I can't get too many posts up but I will be back in a week! Anyway, I created this cute Christmassy wallpaper for you to download for free if you like it! I'm really sorry Android users I only have this for iPhone sizes at the moment but it comes in 3 sizes so hopefully one of them will work, and next time I will try and do one for all phones! Click Read More for the download links, enjoy!

My Christmas Travel Makeup

Monday, 19 December 2016

Hello beauties! Christmas is less than a week away can you believe it?! We are really lucky to be leaving for Italy tomorrow to spend Christmas with my boyfriend Chris's family, who live in Tuscany. Still have not started packing, but I thought I'd show you what I'm taking with me. Now normally I take a huge travel makeup bag with me and pack what must cover every eventuality, from everyday makeup to my 'imaginary-situation-of-getting-papped' makeup. This time I have decided to streamline my makeup and take as little as possible... whether this actually happens or not remains to be seen. I can only hope I won't be papped ;)

An Early Christmas Treat: Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Perfume

Sunday, 18 December 2016

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne

Me and mum went to London last week, on a mission to get in the festive spirit with a girly day out and lots of Christmas shopping. We had an amazing day, starting off in Spitalfields market and then off to Covent Garden for some lunch and then more shopping. It was lovely to see London all glammed up in it's Christmas decor and you realise how lucky you are to have such an amazing city on your doorstep. We made a stop off at Jo Malone in Covent Garden (after stocking up on Laduree macaroons), and my mum treated me to a pre-Christmas treat in the shape of one of my favourite Jo Malone fragrances, Pomegranate Noir (best mum ever!). I've never had the actual perfume before, only the candle so I am so excited to finally have this in my perfume collection.

What's on My Christmas Wishlist

Christmas Wishlist 2016

Hello Beauties! Who's excited that we're getting closer to Christmas?! I am! Well I am excited but also feeling slightly nervous that we fly to Italy in 4 days, and I have done absolutely no planning or preparation whatsoever. Anyway, I thought I'd put together a little Christmas wishlist to show you what's on my letter to Father Christmas. Some of these are realistic and some not so, but we can dream right?! Obviously pretty much everything is makeup related - I am addicted after all.

MAC x Mariah Carey Collection

Thursday, 15 December 2016

MAC Dahhlinggg Lipstick and Rainbow Interlude Gloss from MAC x Mariah Carey Collection

Can we just... take a minute to appreciate the beauty that is the Christmas MAC x Mariah Carey collection. SO PRETTY! I literally did a little squeal when I saw that the postman had been, and then an even louder one when I opened it. GLITTER EVERYWHERE :) :) :) I usually dont buy too much from limited edition collections (mainly because I worry I will fall in love with something and then I'll be left heartbroken) and I can't say I've ever been a huge fan of Mariah Carey (although I am partial to singing like her in the shower) but when I saw this collection was being released it was just too tempting!

My Easy Christmas Party Makeup

Perfect Christmas Party Makeup

I loooove a bit of sparkle, and what better time than Christmas for a bit of a glitz and glam?! Actually.. do we even need a reason to chuck a load of glitter on our eyes? I don't! Anyway, this is an easy party makeup that tends to look good on everyone and it's perfect for any festive bash. This usually doesn't take me too long at all as there's not too many steps and I try and keep it quite simple. I hope you enjoy!

My Holy Grail Foundation: Revlon Colorstay

Monday, 12 December 2016

Hello Beauties! Hope you are all having a good week, and looking forward to Christmas. I'm starting to feel more a bit more festive now after we went to London last week; it totally put me in the festive spirit seeing all the Christmas decorations and lights! Anyway, next up in my Holy Grail series is my favourite foundation in the whole world, Revlon Colorstay. This little gem is my miracle in a bottle and I am so glad I tried it. I am probably onto my 13094579345th 15th or so bottle of this and I have been using it for a good few years now. The perfect coverage and long-wear formula makes this hands down one of the best foundations I have ever tried and one of my most loved products ever. By now you probably have gathered by my rambling that the love I have for this foundation runs pretty deep, so onto the review.

Superfacialist by Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Intense Moisture Mask Review

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Intense Moisture Mask

Don't you just love the TK Maxx beauty section? I get totally excited to see what they've got, you never know when you're going to find a complete gem in amongst all the random stuff. It's like a heavenly jumble sale for beauty addicts. When I was there last I saw this Super Facialist by Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Intense Moisture Mask. I had seen this and been tempted by it in Boots before, where the full price was £9.99. For whatever reason I didn't pick it up but when I saw it for the bargain price of £2.99, in the basket it went.

The mask says 'boost skin moisture levels and radiance with Superfacialist thirst-quenching Intense Moisture Mask developed even for the most sensitive skins'. Having dry skin and having had acne prone skin in the past, I felt the angels singing as I read it - it sounded perfect for me. The ingredients include White Willow extract, which helps with skin cell renewal and marshmallow, which is meant to plump the skin. All of these convinced me I was about to have the skin of a newborn baby and I couldn't wait to get it on my face. Sadly however, this wasn't the case for me.

Christmas Gift Wrapping Inspiration - Pink & Rose Gold

Christmas Gift Wrapping Pink and Rose Gold

I know some people hate wrapping presents but I weirdly like it. Well, not so much the actual wrapping but I get excited to plan the theme and buy all the different papers and ribbons and extra little bits! (I know, weird.) Every year I usually pick a colour scheme, and then mix and match different gift wrapping bits. This year's theme was pink & copper, which I decided on when I saw this pink wrapping paper in M&S (heart eyes all round!). Originally I was going to keep it quite traditional with brown paper and string etc but the magpie in me saw the pink paper and I couldn't resist. Sorry to the men in my life, but even your presents are pink this year :)

My Holy Grail Concealer: Collection Lasting Perfection

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer Review

I thought I would do a little series on my 'Holy Grail' items - the ones my face just could not live without! I don't have HG status for everything, I'm still searching for the perfect eyebrow pencil for example (any blondes out there hit me up with your suggestions!). Being a makeup addict I have whittled down a fair few products and I would say my Holy Grail items are the ones that I know always work and I can always rely on them. It doesn't mean I don't try anything new or use various other products from time to time... I mean come on, even when you've found the perfect one there's always something in the back of your head saying "but is there anything better"? However having said that, I feel like these products really are the ones I would say are my 'would probably die without them' products and most of them have been for a quite a while.

Chocolate Chip & Toasted Hazelnut Cookie Recipe

Chocolate Chip and Toasted Hazelnut Cookie Recipe

Did you know that the 4th of December is National Cookie Day? I didn't until recently! I discovered it on a blog planner that was sent on an email and thought... oh hello, is this the universe trying to tell me I should be eating more cookies?! Well universe, I hear you loud and clear, say no more. As if December couldn't get any better already - an extra excuse for even more food. I really love just simple chocolate chip cookies rather than the double chocolate or white chocolate ones, and decided to share this Chocolate Chip and Toasted Hazelnut recipe for the occasion. The recipe is really easy, really tasty and what better reason to cook them than on National Cookie Day?

6 Tips for Getting Your Makeup to Last All Day

6 Tips for Getting Your Makeup to Last All Day

As a makeup artist people often ask you how to get their makeup to last the whole day. Quite often you apply your makeup in the morning; come midday your mascara is on your chin and you feel like a Madame Tussaud's waxwork who had an unfortunate encounter with an open fire. I used to have very oily skin and I would always suffer with this problem! Nowadays my skin has changed a lot and it is much drier, so this gives me more of a natural advantage in getting my makeup to last. However both dry and oily skin can still use a few techniques in getting your makeup to stay on and hopefully remain where it's supposed to. I have put together a few hints and tips that I have learnt along the way so hopefully you will find them useful! By the way, these tips are just my personal opinion, I cannot completely guarantee they will work for you but hopefully be of some help :)

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Review - Luminous Flush

Hourglass Luminous Flush Review

I am besotted with Hourglass products - even though I don't have many, the ones I do have are just phenomenal quality and as such all of them are firm favourites in my collection. They are however quite expensive, with blushers costing £32 and the bronzers (one of my all time favourites) a whopping £45. Having said that, once you try them and feel the silky soft powders you would gladly sell your soul for one of these babies, and the £32 suddenly seems well worth it to avoid the inconvenience. I also don't think Space NK is in the business of accepting souls for makeup anyway.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Review

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation Review

I know I am probably the last person on earth to review NARS Sheer Glow, but I love trying new foundations and this has been on my 'To Try' list since forever. I haven't bought it before because my skin used to be very spot prone and I have always used full coverage foundations, but everyone raves about it and now my skin has cleared up I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

New Nikon 35mm f/1.8G Lens

Nikon 35mm f/1.8G Lens

Eeeeeek I have a new baby! (Serious heart eye emojis). After having my DSLR camera for 5 years I finally purchased a lens to replace the kit lens it came with. Well I say purchase, this was actually a present from my mum and dad for my birthday back in July (thank you x!). I only just got round to choosing it and after doing a bit of research I decided to go for this one. I have to confess, I just rely on my iPhone to take pictures most of the time. I know the basics of how to use my camera and I like to use it in manual mode, but I just always reach for my iPhone. Mainly because it's quick and easy; I don't feel stupid taking pictures in public and the quality is good enough for Instagram which is pretty much the only social media I really post to regularly! However now I have this blog I thought it was about time I used my DSLR and really got to grips with it.

Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Pencils

Charlotte Tilbury Champagne Diamonds and Amber Haze

It was my birthday back in July, and as part of my present my boyfriend treated me to a spending spree in the Charlotte Tilbury store in Covent Garden. (I know, I'm a very lucky girl!) I absolutely love Charlotte Tilbury products and everything I've tried has been amazing quality. Let's face it, most of it is worth buying for the packaging alone. The shop was incredible and totally a make-up lovers/ Instagrammable paradise - glitz and rose gold everywhere (someone tell me where that ceiling light is from ASAP):

Christmas Gift Guide for the Beauty Junkie In Your Life

Monday, 14 November 2016

Yippee! Now we're well into November it's Christmas in my book- let the singing of Christmas songs commence (much to the joy of my family)! I just love the build up to Christmas, just as much as the day itself... if not more! The atmosphere everywhere is just so lovely and I really enjoy all the activities leading up to Christmas Day, especially planning and buying everyone's gifts. It's just the best feeling when you get something that you know that special person is going to love or something they've wanted for ages. Personally I love to buy presents I know people will get a lot of use out of and with this in mind I thought I'd put together a quick gift guide for all of those buying for their very own beauty junkie... and we all know we've all got at least one ;) Enjoy!

MAC Lipsticks - Creme Cup, Angel, Please Me, Faux
(Left to Right - Faux, Please Me, Angel, Creme Cup)

I absolutely love MAC lipsticks! They are probably my favourite lipsticks (with Charlotte Tilbury coming up a close second); the shade range is amazing and I really like all of the formulas. I picked up another three whilst replacing my beloved Angel, in the shades Creme Cup, Please Me and Faux. I am a self confessed pink lipstick lover; I tend to stick to neutral shades anyway, but for me pink lips are where it's at. Anything too dark makes me look like I died two days earlier and my now lifeless corpse has come back to life, but I really wish I could feel comfortable in dark colours - everyone else looks amazing in them! I wasn't too sure about Faux as I was worried it was going to be a bit dark, but I really fell in love with the swatch on my hand and luckily when I put it on it was a definite winner for me!
